Job Description:

PRINCIPALES RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning, implementation and networking

Plan and facilitate the capacity building of Ccommunity-based institutions for conducting community mobilization activities.
Support the local health institutions and health volunteers in planning, implementation and monitoring of the project activities.
Network with community groups and communal institutions, Churches and other local partners to identify areas of possible cooperation for efficiency implementation of malaria programing interventions.
Plan and execute activities jointly with partners

Representation, facilitation and reporting

Represent World Vision in workshops and meetings at communal and community level as required.
Provide reports of implemented activities.
Organize project review, reflection and learning forums at communal level.
Generate and maintain monthly project reports to the Supervisor in accordance with Donor requirements.

Activities monitoring

Monitor activity implementation on regular basis in the intervention area under his/her responsibility.
Coach community volunteers on regular monitoring of interventions implementation and data collection
Collect project data and share them with the ME team

Other duties:

Attend and participate in weekly cluster meetings.
Able to deploy as required in the event of an emergency response.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or designee from time to time.

II. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualification and Experience required:

Bachelor degree in Health (Nursing), Sanitation and health promotion technics, Communication, Community development.
Degree in public health or environmental health preferred.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the implementation of community-based health, Communication or Community development approaches.
Experience with international NGOs and GF malaria program is an asset.

Technical Skills & Abilities:

Good communication skills in Kirundi and French.
Good knowledge of English.
Good ability to produce written reports in French.
Must hold a motorcycle driving license.
Good experience in motorcycle driving.
Good planning and organizational skills.
Must have good interpersonal and facilitation skills.
Ability to hold confidential and sensitive information.
Able to work under limited supervision.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners at all levels.

Other Competencies/Attributes:

Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
Perform other duties as required.
Accept to be based at field office.
Be a quick learner and responsive.

III. WORKING ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS:

Work environment: Field based position.
Travel: 20 % Domestic travel is required.
On call: As required.
